Former Microsoft boss Bill Gates has hailed the ethical and environmental benefits of plant-based meat in his latest podcast episode…

Bill Gates has once again hailed plant-based meats and highlighted the environmental impact of animal agriculture.

The tech billionaire recently interviewed Grammy award-winning artist Ahmir ‘Questlove’ Thompson on his podcast Unconfuse Me.

During the pair’s conversation, Thompson explained how he believes the plant-based foods will be ‘the future’.

“One thing that’s cool is that it gets rid of the animal cruelty thing but it’s also a big climate thing,” Gates said. “ I came to it more that climate angle…

“Of all the climate areas, the one that people are probably least aware of is all the fertiliser and cows, and that’s a challenge.”

The mogul added that he is ‘optimistic’ about the future of brands such as Impossible Foods, which he has invested in, as they have a ‘good roadmap’.
