Exciting news: Lab-grown food company Good Meat received FDA approval for its “cultivated chicken” – making it the second business to receive the nod of approval for cultivated meat, poultry or seafood.
This technology is a win for animals, as meat grown in a lab could potentially spare billions of sentient beings immense suffering. It’s also a win for the planet: Cultivated meat requires only 1% of the land and 4% of the water currently used for meat production, and it may reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by as much as 96%.
