The deadline for submitting evidence on the future regulatory pathway for cultivated products in the UK is approaching. Cultivated meat companies have the opportunity to share their views and data on the safety, quality and environmental impact of their products by Wednesday (February 14). This is a crucial step for advancing the innovation and development of this emerging sector in the UK.
The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) is conducting a survey for all cultivated meat companies around the world to assess their readiness for applying for regulatory approval in the future. The survey also seeks to understand the technologies used by these companies and to provide them with guidance on how to navigate the regulatory process. The survey can be completed in approximately ten minutes.
The UK has not yet authorized any cultured meat products for commercialization, but sources say that Ivy Farm could receive the green light before the year ends.
“We appreciate your participation in this survey, which will help us shape our regulatory policy in a way that reflects the needs and concerns of the industry. Please share your insights and opinions on how we can regulate effectively and fairly,” the FSA survey requests.
