European foodtech companies secured €721.8 million through 154 deals in 2023, as per our Annual Report. Keep your eye on these top 10 in 2024.

European foodtech companies raised over €700 million (€721.8 million) in some 150+ deals, according to our Annual Report for 2023. While not ranking among the top 10 most-funded industries, foodtech’s 154 deals secure its 8th place position and make it worth watching.

Tech.eu followed several interesting companies in 2023, and we recommend keeping an eye on them in 2024.

Last round: €32.5 million

Umiami, a foodtech company based in France, recently secured €32.5 million in a Series A funding round. This funding will be utilized to expand their innovative plant-based meat alternative technology in both Europe and the United States.

The financing round, which was managed by Bpifrance on behalf of the French government, saw SPI fund and French Tech Seed taking the lead, with the notable participation of Astanor Ventures, Redalpine, Newfund, and VERSO Capital.
