In order to safeguard “traditional” meat products, the Farmer’s Alliance political party in Ireland has demanded a ban on lab-grown meat.

Others attempt to avoid the necessity of labeling competition altogether. The current concern revolves around determining the appropriate course of action once lab-grown meat and poultry becomes available for sale.

The new political party made the announcement on the social media platform X, where they called for a ban on lab-grown meat in Ireland. Their objective is to protect the traditional methods of meat production by prohibiting its production, sale, or import.

The process of creating the meat involves taking animal cells and cultivating them in laboratory conditions. Some environmentalists have praised it as a method to decrease carbon emissions by cultivating meat, thereby decreasing the demand for extensive livestock farming, which results in methane release through their flatulence.
