As chef Andres Voloschin flipped sizzling chicken strips made from cells, a familiar aroma filled the Believer Meats test kitchen.

This chicken was created by scientists. An ambitious objective is being pursued by over 150 start-ups: affordable meat that resembles our current consumption in taste and texture, without the need for raising or killing animals.

Their main objective is to be a part of an industry that utilizes cellular biology in order to address the environmental consequences brought about by the continuously growing global demand for meat, and ultimately revolutionize the production of protein on a global scale.
